From 25 years of independent schooling to becoming a full member of the Higher Education Band — this is the story of TASK Community FET College.
The acceptance of the new challenge for innovation and quality delivery that comes with being a full member of the Higher Education Band is the driving force behind this envisaged plan for TASK Community FET College.
Our experience with independent schools — TASK Academy, 25 years in existence — allowed us to view the full picture of ourselves as an emerging Skills Education Provider. We are encouraged and renewed by the level of commitment and importance placed on the delivery of intermediate skills by the government.
We have taken a leaf, and through this plan we re-dedicate our strength to raising the lid for performance in the delivery of Skills Programmes and other responsive SETA programmes, including those linked to artisan training. We have also taken note of the outcomes-based national and provincial priorities as reflected through our equity and efforts for redressing the imbalances of the past.
The institution has retained its vision, for emphasis on academic performance with its catch statement "A dynamic institution committed to growing skilled people". This catch-statement implies an unequivocal break with all elements or traces of mediocrity and complacency, and puts the delivery and performance of students at the centre of our institute's heartbeat.
A dynamic institution committed to growing skilled people.TASK Community FET College
TASK Community FET College focuses on developing businesses and entrepreneurs in the informal and formal business sector — large and small.
Supporting entrepreneurs and micro-enterprises to formalise, grow and sustain their operations.
Corporate training and development from lower management right through to CEO level.
Responsive SETA programmes including artisan-linked qualifications and practical skills.
Empowering aspiring entrepreneurs with the tools to build sustainable enterprises.
As the demand for small business support increases, the organisation has moved its strategic position in order to accommodate SMMEs from various backgrounds.
Our observation is that many small businesses struggle to survive through the first three years. We aim to assist them in breaking down the barriers that halt their development into sustainable enterprises.
This has not meant that TASK Community FET College has abandoned its mission as the leading organisation in skills development for SMMEs and large corporations in the business, engineering and agro sectors. Due to our policy of not shutting the door on aspiring entrepreneurs, we have reviewed our strategy for SMME Development Support and made the programme accessible to empower aspiring entrepreneurs.
TASK Academy established and grown as a respected independent schooling institution.
Full membership of the Higher Education Band and formalisation of the skills training vision.
Recognition as an Accredited Skills Training Provider with a large private sector portfolio.
An expanded programme to empower aspiring entrepreneurs across Gauteng and beyond.
Let us build a programme around your organisation's specific skills needs.
